2023 Tree of Remembrance

Tree of Remembrace 2023 recap

140 attendees gathered for the 2023 Tree of Remembrance.  We gathered together in memory of our loved ones with hot chocolated, home baked sugar cookies by our Administrative Assistance Charlene Wilson and her daughter Kaitlyn Wilson who volunteers her time with the Society.  Mayor Judy Dahl thanked the volunteers and staff and spoke to how important the services are.  President of the Society said a a few words in regards to gathering together for hope for the future.  Dennis and Nan Mckernan, Bereavement facilitators with the society completed the candle lighting ceremony, and Mary Marshall, Executive Director read a christmas blessing, and a short poem prior to heading to the hospice tree to hang our stars and listen to the musical reflectors by Theo.  Cindy Palin, Services Coordinator ended the event with a beautiful prayer in remembrance of those we have loved, still love and have lost. 

Tree of Remembrance 2022 Recap

This ceremony involves hanging a handcrafted star (created by The Olds Highschool Students) on the Hospice tree or at your tree at home in memory of a loved one.
